IEG Intern (IEG) provides internship placement and support services to international students in valid/active F-1 status currently in good academic standing at a US institution of higher education.
Our services include provisions for arranging paid and unpaid internships at host companies. The type of internship offered is dependent on the university and the degree program the student is currently enrolled in, and in compliance with SEVIS and Department of labor Regulations, and all other applicable employment laws and regulations.
Participation in our placement program and services indicates your acceptance of these terms and conditions.
Acceptance of Applicants
All students are welcome to create an account and apply for internship placement services. Applications will be reviewed by IEG team. Once applications are accepted, students will have access to all services offered by IEG.
Program Placement Fee
Once student application has been accepted, student agrees to pay the placement fee prior to receiving any internship placement services. No refund will be issued due to lack of student’s active participation in the process.
Student agrees to fully cooperate with IEG team in the placement process. Lack of participation may include, but not limited to:
- Student does not respond to emails from IEG in a timely manner. Does not engage with IEG internship advisor.
- Student does not actively engage with his or her IEG advisor to secure placement.
- Student misses or skips any arranged interviews or acts in unprofessional manner during an interview.
- Student refuses to accept any internship offers made by IEG and its partner employers.
In addition, the student will forfeit the placement fee, and no refund will be issued if IEG finds any of the information submitted with the application to be inaccurate or fraudulent.
If IEG is unable to place the student into an internship solely due to its lack of presenting viable placements before term start date, then the students has two choices: 1) accept a full refund minus $500 advising fee 2) choose to continuing the process by engaging with IEG and deferring the internship placement to a future date in which case no refund will be issued at that time, as the placement fee will be attributed to a future placement.
IEG must receive the placement fee in full. Any intermediary charges by various financial services to submit such payment to IEG shall be covered by the student. Service fees from providers in addition to wire transfer fees or foreign transaction fees are the responsibility of the student.
Student must agree to accept the first offer they are given. If the offer is not accepted, student will not qualify for another placement. No refund will be made if student refuses to accept an offer that generally meets the students stated objectives.
If student accepts an offer and has any issues with the position, student agrees to contact their IEG advisor to resolve any issues. If the student terminates their internship on their own accord without consulting with the IEG team, prior to or once they stared a position, no refund will be issued, and student will not qualify for another placement.
IEG will not be held responsible if an employer terminates the student placement prior to end date due to student’s violation of company policies or HR matters. IEG will not be held accountable if an employer shortens the length of the internship for internal company reasons. In all such cases, no refund will be issued.
IEG offers additional services to students participating in the internship program. Such services will be provided at an additional fee. All fees for services including, but not limited to, housing, health insurance, or transportation are due prior to providing the service. Refund policies of such service providers vary for each type of service.
Qualification of Participants
IEG reserves the right, at its own and full discretion, to accept or reject the application of any student based on data submitted to IEG as required in the application process.
Rejection of an application for not meeting the requirements for an internship will result in a full refund to the student if such fee was already paid to IEG, and student has not been given full access to services.
Change of Service Date
Student may set up an account at any time free of charge. Once the application is completed and approved, a placement fee is due. Internship placement fee is not refundable.
- No refund will be issued if a student cancels their application after the issuance of the internship offer. No refund will be made after internship commencement date.
- Cancellation of the application because of change in personal preference, study or when credits are not obtained, does not count to be a valid reason for cancellation and will not result in a refund.
- If the student submits a written request to change the internship start date four weeks prior to the scheduled start date and prior to receiving a final offer, a credit will be applied to future placement. If postponement request is received after receiving an offer, then postponement may be made only if the host company agrees to such request.
